Senior Advisor

Sam Kent

Sam brings nearly two decades of experience at the sharp end of politics, public affairs and public policy.

For 14 of those years, he has worked at the critical intersection of politics and financial services — guiding executive leaders through the moments that matter most, from select committee hearings to high-stakes reputational challenges.

Sam’s career spans some of the most consequential times in UK financial regulation and politics. He was Acting Head of Public Affairs at the Financial Conduct Authority for two years during the covid crisis, developed the organisations Public Affairs strategy and advised its last 5 CEOs on some of the most difficult issues. Sam also led communications planning in the run up to the Brexit and Scottish referendums and more recently spent 3 years working on the development of the UK’s cryptoasset regime. Before joining the FCA, he worked directly for a member of the influential Treasury Select Committee and a member of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards, specialising in issues facing SMEs. He started in politics in 2008 as a campaigns organiser and successfully fought a General Election, Scottish Election as well as two referendums.

He holds a Masters in European and International Politics.
